Pick a word that has a 'q' somewhere in it.

2012 letter was Q and Charlotte Campbell was the winner with Quetzale.

And the 2011 winner was Quelea Quelea.

The Letter E Contest!!

So this will be the 4th year of the chosen Letter Contest.  The first two years I had the letter Q and last year I had the Z.  Well 2014 is the Letter E...the most common letter is Scrabble Tiles and therefore the most common letter in my Scrabble Drawers.

To be part of the running you must come up with a word with the Letter E in it somewhere(can be more than one) and tell me what that item would look like, in other words the colours.

The winning word I will create a wrap with those colours and Scrabble Tiles and a matching Everyday Scarf and the winner who submitted this word will be able to chose any Everyday Scarf of their choice!!

Kingfisher, a Small Wrap

Lately I have been working on a series of birds called In the Garden that was debuted at the Vancouver Eco Fashion Week at the end of April. This show will be showing on Granville Island at the Circle Craft Co-op Gallery at the end of May so if you want this piece buy it before it is gone!!

Crimson, a Large Wrap

 

Oh the colour of red. Having red hair I have always been drawn to this colour.

This wrap is a large and has a beautiful drape.

Lemon, an Eleganza Wrap

Eleganzas are made from the thrums or weaving scraps

 left over from a wrap or scarf. When I collect enough for 

an Eleganza Scarf, which may be from three or more

 scarves and may take months to acquire. Each

 Eleganza is therefore individual and made one at a time.

My sister is a graffiti artist on paper and her colours really

 inspire me. The pop of colour in this piece really 

emanates that inspiration. The piece felted 

really nicely and is wonderful to wear and look at.

Santorini, a Large Wrap

Santorini is inspired by the little island off the coast of Greece 

in the Mediterranean. I really want to go to this place

 one day so I explored its colours through wrap.

Ivory, a Short Wrap

Ivory is soft both in colour and in texture. 

The Scrabble tiles are the rare burgundy ones.

New Techno Small Wrap going up on etsy tomorrow!

So one of my early wraps was called Fruit Punch and it looked 

really good as my signature piece.

Here is the original piece which now resides in Austin, Texas.

I like to spin the fringe and see what the colours mix like.

Fun to close the piece with a chopstick or a brooch.

My week in Instagram photos...

I have decided to start making Saturday Instagram photo day.  I am going to give you an update of my week through the photos I have taken through the week.

The Canadian window at Favourite Gifts in the Lonsdale Quay.

At the Horseshoe Bay Art Walk I had about three hundred visitors including little Alana here who fell in love with the Short Stone Wrap!! What a great size for a little one.  But in the end her mom bought a bag sold by sweet little Madeline.

A new Small Fruit Punch wrap went up on the loom.

The original Fruit Punch Wrap sold and went to Austin, Texas last year but it is the logo on all og my branding material so I got a lot of questions.

The warp and the weft look so pretty together.

This is a Medium Eleganza Shift that was available only yesterday at Haiku Pop-Up Shop at 644 Kingsway.  I did bring it home at the end of my shift to post it up on etsy.
