Purple Finch Eleganza Dress

Eleganzas are made from the thrums or weaving scraps left over from a wrap or scarf. When I collect enough for an Eleganza Item, which may be from three or more scarves and may take months to acquire. Each Eleganza is therefore individual and made one at a time.

These dresses are sprinkled with bits of silk that are left overs from a silk factory that I worked many years ago. The dress is a one size fits all up to a size 12.

New Zealand Handspun and Overdyed

New Zealand Handspun superthick overdyed by me

I am purging some of the overdyed turquoise New Zealand handspun that I have too much to use. If you are a knitter this stuff is especially useful and each ball that is overdyed is a slightly different pattern.

I have four colours of this handspun yarn that has been overdyed by me. It is 100% New Zealand sheepswool and is great for knitting with.

I am a weaver and I cannot use it in my warps but I do use tiny bits here and there in the weft and I will never be able to use all of so I want to share.

Forest, a Short Wrap

Short Wraps are the same width as Narrow Wraps but about half the length so they are better for everyday occasions. This piece is nice as it will go with anything and is very drapy.

Crimson, a Large Wrap

Oh the colour of red. Having red hair I have always been drawn to this colour.

This wrap is a large and has a beautiful drape.
